Austin Phillips is a 2024 3B/SS/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Fort Worth, TX who attends South Grand Prairie. Nice athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread no stride approach with a low hand set, has some lift in his swing with good extension out front, has fast hands and creates bat speed, handled the barrel very well in the games with consistent hard contact, especially to the opposite field. 6.98 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, has a long over the top arm action with some carry on his throws, step by step action to the ball and into his transition. Good student, verbal commitment to Oklahoma.
