Michael Gutierrez is a 2016 3B/ with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Miramar, FL who attends Mater Academy Lakes. Medium, athletic frame with high waist, has room to fill out and projects well throughout body. Right handed hitter, narrow upright set up with high back elbow. Calm approach, demeanor, stays balanced throughout swing mechanics. Hand drop trigger, has line-drive swing plane, shows good feel for barrel and repeats contact approach well, spraying balls around the field. Could incorporate lower half more consistently into swing to tap into strength.Has some defensive versatility, can play both infield and outfield. Circles ball well in the infield, shows lateral quickness and ability to get ball out quickly. In the outfield displayed some developing arm strength, fields out in front and shows solid feel for position. Good student.
