Wallace has a good pitcher’s body and showed some athleticism on the mound and when running. He started his outing in Chapel Hill slowly, throwing 83 mph with a flat, short arm arch, but evidently relaxed the next few innings because he was consistently 85-86 mph after that a much smoother, fuller arm stroke. Wallace’s breaking ball was a 77 mph slider that occasionally showed some real sharpness to it. We like this pitch as a major factor in Wallace’s future at higher levels. Wallace’s change up still needs some work but he showed a willingness to use it at different times. He showed good command and knowledge of pitching. He could end up being a top college RHP. Brandon is a very good student also.
