John Dancy is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Ardrey Kell HS. Lean, athletic build, room for additional strength. Loose, longer arm action, works to a high 3/4's arm slot, shows quick armspeed and generates good downhill plane. Fastball up to 85 mph, jumps out of hand and shows good life, developing command of offering. Has good feel for a sharp slider with late break, offering works in mid-70s and shows good gloveside finish. Also flashes a rare changeup with some armside run and fade off the fastball action. Solid defensive tools in the outfield, very strong arm in the outfield that plays well to bases, can be more consistent with footwork, mechanics. Right handed hitter, deep hand load, bat wraps a bit, shows good bat speed and gets through the zone pretty quickly. Looseness and fluidity in the swing, really shows flashes with developing power. Projects well. Very good student.
