2016 Sunshine Southeast Showcase
Tristen Hudson is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 6-3 178 lb. frame from Salem, SC who attends Seneca. Large-XL frame with long, lean build and high end physical projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.80 seconds. Switch hitter, showed feel to hit from both sides of the plate with interesting hitting tools. Cleaner, smoother hand path with more bat speed and power from the left side of the plate; still showed good barrel awareness and quality bat speed from the right side. Worked out in the infield, showing a tremendous tool in his arm strength. Very smooth to the ball with good footwork, athletic actions at the ball, quick release from lower slot up to an outstanding 92 MPH across. Pitched as well, online delivery, throws from deceptive low 3/4 slot, long and loose arm action, fastball worked 83-86 MPH with good life at the plate, will show ability to cut the FB to the glove side. Had good feel for off speed pitches as well, showing a hard-diving changeup; 12/6 CB with good depth, and sharp slider with tilt. Named to 2016 Sunshine Southeast Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
