Burton Schnake is a 2016 RHP/C, 3B, 1B with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Memorial. Extra-large, strong build with long limbs and some room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a long arm action in the back. Slow tempo'd delivery, stays tall on back side with a tight release. Uses long levers and generates some downhill plane on his fastball, which topped out at 79 mph and maintained the velocity throughout his outing. Good feel for curveball, slot drops at times on the pitch but utilizes it as his out pitch, showing 11-5 shape with the ability to throw it in any count. Shows a strong arm behind the plate as well, tall at release with a compact arm action and solid carry on throws. Right-handed hitter, starts with an even stance and a quiet hand set. Keeps hands in on swing, creates line drive contact to the middle of the field and showed ability to hit to opposite field as well with some carry off the barrel. Outstanding student.
