2015 Pitcher Catcher Indoor Showcase
Caleb Townsend is a 2015 RHP/OF with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Cedar Falls, IA who attends Cedar Falls HS. Tall and slender build with long limbs, projects well physically. Medium length arm action with a tight 3/4's slot, slow paced delivery with a big stride out, with drift out early at times, low effort release with a loose arm out front. Consistent upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, has been up to 83 mph this past fall, gets big running action at times and works consistently down in the zone. Firm change up has similar life to his fastball. Still developing curveball feel, flashes hard spin but often drop release slot and gets under it, sweeping shape. Should continue to improve as he gets stronger and develops his breaking ball. Good student.
