Jay Kehoe is a 2019 C/RHP with a 6-0 192 lb. frame from Salem, AL who attends Phenix City Central HS. Recorded a 7.47 second 60-yard dash time. Strong frame with present physicality but projects nicely too. Primary catcher with quick exchange featuring a fast exchange and even faster release. Up to 80 mph behind the plate with a sub-2.0 second best pop time. Accurate throws and gets on top of the ball well with advanced catch-and-throw skills. Righthanded pitcher with a short arm stroke and ran his fastball up to 85 mph. Creates good plane and mixed in a curveball with good depth. Limits hard contact and holds runners well. Attacks and challenges hitters. Lefthanded hitter with a big leg kick and deeper hand load. Even stance with an all fields approach. Some hard hit contact to the pull side with a downhill swing plane and works best when spraying contact to all fields. Named to the 2018 Sunshine Southeast Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
