Patrick Defeciani is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Congers, NY who attends Clarkstown North Senior. Primary pitcher with large frame and projectable body type, athletic build, 8.11 runner in the 60. Easy effort delivery with a high leg lift than maintains direction to the plate. Short arm circle in the back and delivers through a high 3/4 arm slot with a full follow through. Fastball creates big downhill plane and is located well at the bottom of the zone, sitting in the middle 70's, topping at 76 mph. Shows feel for spinning and landing a 2/8 shaped curveball with rolling break and consistently tight spin. At first base, plays below the ball with soft hands and safe sure movements, shorter arm stroke and accurate throws to the bases. Hits from an upright, even and open stance with a high hand set and elevated back elbow position. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing and creates weight shift into contact with a pure pull-side power approach at the plate. Has present strength in the swing with lift through the zone, looks to elevate and impact the ball with every swing. Creates leverage with extension through contact. Presently grades higher as a hitter. Good student.
