Elijah Bowers is a 2017 C/1B with a 5-10 195 lb. frame from Matthews, NC who attends Weddington HS. Bowers has a medium sized frame with a thick strong build. Defensively he throws with a short arm action with some arm strength up to 76 MPH. He made online throws that showed some carry on them. Bowers gains ground and showed solid footwork on his pop throws. He has some catch and throw tools and has quick transfers. Bowers also showed solid receiving skills in game. At the plate, he starts with a high hand set and uses a toe tap trigger to start his swing. Bowers showed balance through his swing and showed quick hands to the baseball. He has some bat speed and he showed some strength in his swing. Bowers made some hard contact in game with a double over the center fielders head. Very good student.
