Carter Raffield is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 6-4 215 lb. frame from Cochran, GA who attends Bleckley County HS. Extra large broad shouldered build, has firmed up over the last year and looks strong. High 3/4's to over the top arm action, big wrap in back, medium effort at release, loads well over his back side and gets downhill well. Fastball tops out at 94 mph, can get fastball to both sides of the plate, gets nice heavy sinking action down low at lower velocities. Nice change up, matches his arm speed and release point well, mostly straight but has deception and feel for the pitch. Still developing consistency for his curveball release, flashes quality at times, ability to spin it is there. Good student, verbal commitment to Clemson.
