AJ Lewis is a 2016 C/3B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Mount Carmel, IL who attends Mount Carmel HS. Medium athletic build with good present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base with a short and early stride into contact, short rotational swing, has hand and upper body strength, line drive swing plane with occasional hard pull contact, simple approach, has the strength to open up his swing for more power in the future. Flexible athletic actions behind the plate, compact arm action, tends to throw across his body but has good accuracy, young footwork which will be easy to improve, projects athletically on defense. Also plays the infield. Good student, verbal commitment to Missouri.
