Will Phipps is a 2023 C/RHP, OF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Milton, GA who attends Fellowship Christian. Recorded a 7.14 second 60-yard dash time. Primary catcher with a tall frame and solid build. Quick release on throws from a side saddle start behind the plate. Gains ground during exchange with some accuracy on throws to second base at 76 mph. Quick exchange over arm strength on throws behind the plate with present arm strength on the mound as his secondary position. Fastball up to 87 mph from a side step to waist high leg lift and short-arm catchers throwing slot. Direct to the plate with arm strength that should translate behind the plate with refined mechanics. Showed a slider in the 70-73 mph range and a changeup in similar range as off-speed pitches. Slider is best secondary pitch with present arm slot and release. Right-handed hitter with a balanced and open stance in the box. Big leg lift trigger to high back elbow slot with leverage out front. Pull side impact when everything is in sequence with present strength through the zone. Excellent Student. Named to the National Underclass Southeast Showcase Top Prospect List.
