Garrett Lavin is a 2017 OF/ with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Del Norte. Medium athletic build with solid present strength and good projection to fill out more. Hits from tall, easy stance with slightly wrapped start. Very simple approach to hitting with contact-oriented swing and clean bat path. Starts closed a bit, but opens up well and comes through the zone online. Made consistent line drive contact to the middle of the field. Good approach with good plate discipline. Charges hard in the OF with consistency throughout defensive actions. Moves well to ball and fields cleanly, throws accurately from lower arm slot, topping at 81 MPH on throws. Ran a 7.15 60 yard dash. Good student.
