James Lovell is a 2019 OF/3B with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Memorial HS. Small build with some present strength. Ran a 7.50 second 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, lines up ball well, fields ball cleanly funneling ball up to body, smooth and quick transfer from glove to hand, compact arm action into throws, average arm strength, topped out at 79 mph from the outfield. Righthanded hitter, wide base with a high hand set, inside and long hand path to the baseball, some present bat speed but tends to be late through the hitting zone, would like to see the hands going earlier in the hitting process for more consistent barreled contact, swings hard, opposite field line drive approach with intent. Good student.
