Daniel Esquivel is a 2016 3B/1B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends John A. Ferguson. Medium athletic frame and build with solid present build and room to grow. Hits from wide base with a slightly wrapped start, leg lift trigger with inside approach to hitting. Has feel for the barrel and makes contact to all fields with quick hands. Stays back well on spin and takes it the other way. Shows solid defensive actions as well, gets to the ball quickly with range to both sides, fields cleanly underneath, and shows very accurate arm across the infield with throws clocking as high as 72 MPH. Showed good footwork around the bag at 1B as well. Good student.
