Joshua Cerejo is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Walnut Creek, CA who attends Acalanes. Large frame with broad shoulders, long limbs and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple rock step to high leg lift delivery. Works through lift quickly and creates coil at gather. Utilized lower half well while showing drop and drive actions to the plate. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum to glove side at finish. Hid the baseball well with a deep arm circle prior to releasing from a three-quarters slot. Fastball showed some natural cut out of hand to glove side in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Breaking ball had 10/5 shape with good spin and sweep to glove side in the mid 60's. Flashed sharp bit when maintaining arm speed with offering. Looked to feel the zone with developing feel to work to each edge of the plate. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, even stance and simple front side trigger. Shifts into contact with linear lower half actions. Loose path to contact with a slightly lifted plane through extension. Swung with intent while employing a mid field to pull side approach. Ball jump off barrel well with carry to the gap when on time and squared. Good student.
