Alexander Steigerwald is a 2019 C/ with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from La Jolla, CA who attends La Jolla Country Day. Steigerwald has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he has a wide spread base behind the plate with developing catch and throw tools. He stands up to throw on his pop throws and throws from a lower arm slot. Steigerwald has developing arm strength up to 69 MPH and cuts off his arm out front. At the plate, he starts with a slightly open stance and has a shorter swing path to the baseball. Steigerwald has some bat speed and showed some hand quickness. He stayed on some tough pitches in game and showed some developing hitting tools. Very good student.
