TJ McCants is a 2020 SS/2B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Cantonment, FL who attends Pensacola Catholic. Very long and lean basketball type build, lots of room to get stronger. 6.63 runner, is light on his feet in the middle infield with rangy actions, plays fast with developing footwork through the ball, throws especially well from the lower slot and gets rid of the ball quickly on the run. Left handed hitter, has quick hands from a low hand set start, short inside swing path, pretty simple and repeatable approach that is going to maximize contact. Projectable athlete who will keep improving with repetitions and additional strength. Very good student, verbal commitment to Mississippi.
