Benton Ford is a 2019 C/OF with a 5-10 159 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Lubbock-Cooper HS. Medium frame, slender build, room to fill out physically as he continues to grow. Primary catcher, showed good receiving skills, quick release, developing arm strength and accuracy. Will continue to see more arm strength as he consistently gains momentum behind the ball. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a wide base, high hand set, and high back elbow. Small leg lift trigger to begin swing. Line drive swing plane and a middle of the field approach. Gets extended throughout swing while displaying solid bat speed, developing lower half. Good speed. Young talent that projects as he continues to mature. Excellent student.
