Grayson Garvin is a 2008 LHP with a 6'5'', 218 lb. frame from Suwanee, GA who attends Wesleyan School. He has a tall and slender build and plenty of room to get stronger. Garvin throws from a tall and fall type of delivery with long and loose actions. He stays balanced well and the ball comes out of his hand easily. Garvin repeats his delivery very well for a big, young pitcher and there isn't much you'd want to do with him mechanically. Garvin's fastball was in the upper 80's with hard arm side running action at times. His change up is a plus pitch with very good arm speed and the same type of movement as his fastball. Garvin showed plus command of both his fastball and change up and knew how to use them. What's missing from his arsenal right now is a good curveball; his upper 60's breaking ball was soft and he didn't have much confidence in it. Garvin has a big upside when he adds some strength and develops a breaking ball as all the other ingredients are there.
