Warren Stovall is a 2019 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Homerville, GA who attends Clinch County. Medium frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Primary left handed pitcher with a simple, smooth paced side step delivery. Stays tall and balanced on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Creates some front side swing but lands in line and carries momentum to target well. Medium arm circle at take back and released from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated occasional downhill plane through the zone with some running action to arm side in the mid 70's, topped at 79 miles per hour. Curveball had 1/7 shape with loose spin and good depth in the low 60's. Flashed good feel for breaking ball and conistently located for strikes in positive and negative counts. Also flashed changeup offering in the mid 60's that created some wiggle to arm side when turning over delivery. Primarily looked to located down and away from hitter while mixing speeds. Effectively stayed off barrels and induced weaker contact throughout each inning of work. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing quick, athletic footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions and worked through exchange with fluidity. Stays on top of baseball at released generating low carry to the bag, topped at 81 miles per hour. Switch hitter with an upright, even stance from each side of the plate. Works to contact on a simple, direct path with a line drive plane through extension. Looked to control barrel and utilize a line drive approach from each side of the plate. Flashed solid bat speed with ability to turn on the baseball and work to pull side with some jump off the barrel from the left side of the plate. Excellent student.
