Jackson Bennett is a 2018 IF/RHP with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Farley, IA who attends Beckman. Bennett has a long lean build with room to fill out and add strength to his athletic body. Hits from an upright slightly open stance, strides to square with a smooth quiet hand load. Line drive swing plane with loose hands, gets extended out front. Creates torque in mid section by turning in front foot on load. Flashed good lift and solid contact. Has tools to develop at plate. Defensively, good arm strength throwing 81 across diamond, feet work well with athletic actions, fields ball out front, brings throwing hand to glove on ground, has a little longer transfer and release with a long arm circle in back. Also pitched, up to 83 from mound, with a simple side step delivery with medium leg lift, has a deep arm stab in back to a high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball has good life. Stays online to slightly closed at landing but clears hips well to be able to get out to consistent release point. Curveball has 10/4 shape that flashed depth and developing spin. Mixed speeds well and had good idea how to pitch. Showed a change up that running action and maintained arm speed.
