Ryan Plentzas is a 2017 3B/2B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Manchester, NH who attends Manchester Central High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, present strength throughout build. Ran a 7.76 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front and funnels well with soft hands, sound defensive actions overall and moves well laterally, works around the ball and shows a quick transfer and release from a lower arm slot, accurate across, arm strength and carry will continue to develop. Also pitched, shows a hip turn at top of delivery with a short stride down the mound. Arm action is short and compact through the back, three-quarters arm slot at release. Finishes across body and creates cut to fastball at 76 mph, flashes sink when on top of ball and down in the zone. Changeup featured short tumbling life at 70 mph, short and sweeping action to curveball at 68 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high back elbow in the box. Uses a leg lift trigger and regularly on time, quickness to hands helps produce solid bat speed through the zone and stays through the ball well. Natural feel for the barrel with consistent hard contact to pull side. Gets extended and shows jump off the barrel, sound power potential. Good student. Named to Northeast Top-Top Prospect List.
