Pat Gilmore is a 2018 1B/RHP with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Wayne, NJ who attends Wayne Hills. Large frame with long limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Ran a 7.14 sixty-yard dash. Primary first baseman with clean lower half actions while centering the baseball and pivoting to second base. Funnels the baseball well out front and works through exchanged with fluidity. Released from a three-quarters arm slot producing accurate, on line carry topping at 71 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and high back elbow set. Barrel comes through the zone on a level path to contact with lift at contact. Swung with intent to drive the ball to the middle of the field between the gaps. When on time and squared, flashed solid backspin off the barrel with carry. Also pitched utilizing a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Creates slightly coil over back leg at balance and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands at a closed front side position creating cross fire from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball had solid arm side run with downhill angle through the zone in the mid 70's, topped at 76 miles per hour. Curveball had good spin with solid depth when working down in the zone. Also showed good feel for a changeup offering that had a similar release point to fastball. Consistently filled the strike zone and effectively worked ahead of hitters early in count. Very good student as well.
