Dawson Smothers is a 2020 1B/C with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Benton, KY who attends Marshall County HS. Large frame with very good present strength and physicality, ran 60 yard dash in 7.66 seconds. Sets up to hit from wide-based stance with high back elbow and leg lift trigger, long stride out but doesn't full shift weight to stay balanced, power approach with solid bat speed, some length to stroke, can drive the ball into the air with raw strength to pull side when squared up. Worked out at 1st base, adequate footwork to both sides, flashes clean glove, longer release across the diamond with throws clocked up to 73 mph. Very good student.
