Connor Crabill is a 2018 RHP with a 5-9 185 lb. frame from Dubuque, IA who attends Hempstead HS. Medium frame with a strong, athletic build. Ran a 7.68 sixty yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher who works exclusively from the stretch. Works quickly with high energy actions throughout delivery. Gathers on back side and utilized lower half well while driving to the plate. Quick arm action through extension from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball jumps out of hand well with good heavy actions and solid downward angel to the plate, topped at 85 mph. Curveball had 11/5 shape with tight rotation and quality depth down in the zone. Consistently filled the zone and changed speed effectively keeping hitters off balance. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing smooth paced footwork while surrounding the baseball from a slightly deeper position. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball out front with developing fluidity. Flashed some range when working the glove side with the ability to throw while on the run. Topped at 80 mph across the infield generating accurate, on line carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and high back elbow set. Stacks back side at load and employees a toe tap trigger timer. Creates good shift into contact with linear lower half actions. Primarily used a mid-field approach but does shows the present bat speed to turn barrel to contact and produce loud contact to pull side. Consistently barreled baseball throughout batting practice. Named to the 2016 Midwest Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List.
