Brian Vieira is a 2016 RHP/OF, IF with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Wethersfield, CT who attends Wethersfield HS. Medium, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, short and compact arm action in the back with a high three-quarter release point. Repeats arm action well, shows good rhythm and tempo to delivery, tall on backside, occasionally gets down the hill too quickly out of stretch. Gets on top of fastball and generates downhill plane to bottom of zone, topped out at 77 mph, works ahead in the count and shows running life. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with depth at 68 mph. Also flashed changeup, showed fading life at 67 mph, slows arm action slightly. Fields out front in the outfielder, gets behind the ball well, full arm action with smooth transfer and easy arm action. Left-handed hitter, starts with an upright and slightly open stance. Line drive swing plane, shifts weight well through lower half, shows bat speed with leverage at contact. Nice sound coming off when squared, showed ability to use all fields effectively with nice bat speed.
