Chase Oldham is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Moxee, WA who attends East Valley HS. Tall frame with solid build. Some present strength and projects for additional build. Right handed hitter with rotational mechanics. Compact swing path to contact the produces some leverage and hard mid-field contact. Shows plus extenstion through the baseball. Bat head and barrel stay tall during launch at times causing a slight dip in bat path. Worked out defensively from the outfield. Shows a short overtop arm action that generates downhill plane and produces accurate throws, topped at 78 mph from the outfield. Deliberate footwork and glove actions while transitioning through the baseball. Also pitched showing an overhead release with a short stride and simple on line lower half mechanics. Fastball has some downhill angle ranging 72-73 mph. Curverball has 12/6 downer action with good spin. Curveball is best pitch in arsenal, topped at 59 mph. Tends to get tall on release and miss up in the zone at times. Shows best stuff when down in the zone. Good tools set for a 2018. High ceiling as an OF prospect at this time. Good student as well.
