Knolton Clark is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Santa Ana, CA who attends Servite HS. Large frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Frame projects for continued strength with physical development. Ran a 7.38 sixty yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a short rock step to high leg kick delivery. Gathers well at balance point and stays ball on backside. Lower half drives on line to the plate with a good stride length and arm extension through finish. Lands in line with the plate and easily clears hops. Releases from an extended, low three-quarters arm slot that has good life through the zone with fastball offering. Fastball showed solid downward plane to the bottom of the one with arm side run, topped at 84 mph. Curveball has 9/5 shape with tight rotation, good depth and slight sweeping action. Flashed a slider as well with 9/4 shape, maintains arm speed well with offering supply solid tilt and depth. Pitches to each edge of the plate with good command of the zone. Mixed pitches well effectively keeping hitter off balance. Also worked out defensively from first base showing solid athletic actions while ranging to and surrounding the baseball. Soft, fundamental hands while funneling the baseball out front. Topped at 82 mph across the infield with accurate, on line carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with a spread, balanced stance. Lower half launches with rotational actions generating occasional shift into contact. Swings with intent to drive the baseball while employing a mid-field approach. Flashed solid strength and bat speed when working the baseball to the opposite field gap. Very good student. Named to the West Coast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List.
