Tyler Tilton is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Redlands, CA who attends Redlands East Valley HS. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.48 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins with a side step turn into delivery, shows balance to delivery and gets tall on backside with acceleration down the mound, remains on line with stride. Quick arm action through the backside working to an over-the-top release point, tight release point. Shows ability to work to glove side with fastball, topped out at 83 mph with short life, able to induce ground ball contact. Projects with additional lower half. Curveball shows 12-6 shape up to 68 mph and mixed a knuckleball with tumble at 66 mph. Good energy moving towards the ball in the outfield, fields out front and shows similar quick arm with present arm strength; good carry out of hand and repeats actions well, some effort at release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow and open stance in the box with a high hand set and back elbow. Swings with intent and generates nice present bat speed with quickness to hands. Stays linear through the zone and repeats mechanics well, shows carry off the barrel when elevated at contact and generates steady contact to his pull side. Good student.
