Ryan Doran is a 2018 1B/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Harlan, IA who attends Harlan Community. Large frame with broad shoulders and long limbs. Projects for additional strength. Primary first baseman with smooth, clean footwork while centering the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling out front and works through transition with loose, fluid exchanges. Created on line carry across the infield showing developing accuracy to the bag, topped at 79 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an upright, open stance and simple front side trigger. Creates some coil at load and works to contact on a loose path. Line drive barrel plane through extension and flashed present strength at contact. Primarily looked to created hard line drive contact to the middle of the field but flashed the ability to turn the barrel and work to pull side with authority as well. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. Starts from a closed set and stays flexed on back side at gather. Creates slight coil over back leg and lands at a closed position on front side. Compact arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball flashed some natural cutting action to glove side in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 82 miles per hour. Slider had 9/4 shape with looser spin and some sweep to glove side in the upper 60's. Looked to fill the strike zone with both pitched and showed developing feel to reach each edge of the plate.
