Noah Balandran is a 2019 3B/RHP, 2B, SS, MIF, IF, UT with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Simi Valley, CA who attends Royal. Large frame with a solid, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary third baseman athletic footwork while working to and surrounding the baseball. Moves well to each side with good range when working deep in to each hole. Clean, fundamental glove actions with fluid exchanges. Releases from a compact three-quarters slot, generated on line carry to the bag topping at 73 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a even, slightly crouched stance and compact hand set. Lower half launches to contact with linear actions generating good shift to baseball. Simple, direct line drive swing plane with occasional leverage through extension. Looks to lift the baseball between the gaps while swinging with intent. Showed good balance throughout with present strength and bat speed. Consistently squared up baseball throughout batting practice and generating occasional rising line drives to the outfield. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. Picks front side straight up before working to a slightly closed front side at finish. Compact arm circle back at separation and releases from a three-quarters slot. Primarily works the outside edge of the plate with a fastball that showed good life through the zone between 76-78 miles per hour. Curveball showed 11-to-5 rolling shape with occasional depth when maintaining arm speed through finish. Also flashed a changeup with some sinking action down in the zone, tends to slow arm speed slightly with offering. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
