Peyton Smith is a 2021 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Morganton, NC who attends Robert L Patton. Large frame with highly-projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 8.15 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, wrist hook through back of arm stroke, gets on top of ball well and creates plane from high three quarters slot, fastball worked 73-77 mph with some cutting action, curveball had gradual depth, also flashed changeup with some fading action. Opposite field approach when hitting, toe tap trigger, gets hands moving inside-out with flat bat path, showed solid contact skills. Worked out at first base, late funnel out front, shows footwork around the bag, clocked up to 74 mph on throws. Very good student.
