Evan Ames is a 2021 1B/RHP with a 6-5 220 lb. frame from Fort Myers, FL who attends Bishop Verot. Extra large frame with present strength throughout build. Broad shoulders and long limbs. Ran a 7.64 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary first baseman. Projects well at the position. Fields out front with a clean funnel and soft hands. Has some carry across the diamond with strength in arm. Left handed hitter with a slightly open stance. Utilizes a sweeping leg lift trigger for timing. Rotational type shift into contact creating torque in the lower half. Line drive bat path using the whole field well. Has some strength at the point of contact. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a quick side step delivery. Longer take back at hand break into a three-quarters release slot. Works quickly and has some arm speed. Generally creates plane on the fastball and will work in and out with it at 81 miles per hour. Looser spinning slider with sharpness to lateral movement. Good student as well.
