Andrew Blair is a 2017 1B/LHP with a 6-3 250 lb. frame from Maroa, IL who attends Maroa-Forsyth. XL frame with strong, sturdy present build; good strength throughout body. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.17 seconds. Sets up to hit from left side of the plate, even stance with balance, toe tap timing mechanism. Gets lower half involved and shows mostly middle-field approach. Line drive swing plane with good strength off the barrel, can pull the ball with authority in addition to serving line drives up the middle and to the opposite field. Can create backspin at times with solid power. Worked out at 1st base, presents good target for infielders, fields cleanly and gets off quick release on throws across the diamond. Arm strength clocked up to 69 MPH. Pitched as well, employs short and quick arm stroke, generating some angle to the plate from high three quarters arm slot. Fastball worked 66-67 MPH with good command, also mixed in a 1/7 curveball with good depth. Pounded the zone consistently with both pitches.
