Luke Lagos is a 2018 LHP/ with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Amesbury, MA who attends Amesbury. Large frame with broad shoulders and a strong, athletic build. Ran a 7.46 sixty-yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher with a simple rock step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall and balanced on back side with coil over back leg at gather. Utilized drop and drive lower half actions to the plate, tends to land at a slightly closed position while striding to the plate. Medium arm circle at separation and released from a loose mid three-quarters arm slot. Fastball came out of hand well generating solid running action to arm side. Maintains arm speed with a changeup offering that had solid sinking life to the bottom of the zone. Also showed a curveball that had 2/8 shape with ok rotation and sweeping action to glove side. Consistently repeating mechanics and filled the zone inducing weak contact. Also worked out defensively from first base showing deliberate footwork while centering the baseball. Funnels the baseball from a slightly deeper position and works through exchange with clean actions. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot generating accurate carry across the infield. Left handed hitter with an upright, open stance and toe tap trigger. Creates some shift into contact with rotational lower half actions. Hands bounce during load and work to contact on a simple, direct path. Flashed present bat speed with strength on a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Swung with intent to drive the baseball primarily utilizing a gap to gap approach. Flashed the ability to turn barrel to contact and work to pull side with authority. Good student.
