Ryne Gruenwald is a 2020 C/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Lost Nation, IA who attends Maquoketa Community. Medium frame with a solid, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Primary catcher with a slightly higher stance while setting up to receive the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouch to a slightly taller throwing position. Clean, smooth paced glove to hand exchanges and released with a very compact arm action. Throws generated soft online carry to the bag, best workout pop time of 2.35. Right handed hitter with a crouched, even stance. Creates some top half bend towards the plate at set up and developed some top half coil at load. Hands sink to a slightly lower slot at load and work to the baseball on a loose, extended plane. Consistently barreled baseball throughout batting practice and showed some jump off the barrel when on time and balanced at contact point. Very good student as well.
