Kain Kiser is a 2018 RHP/3B with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Pilot Mountain, NC who attends East Surry HS. Recorded a 7.53 second 60-yard dash time. Large frame with broad shoulders and present physicality to the build. Primary righthanded pitcher with a hip turn near the top of the gather. Works very quickly and utilizes a shorter arm path from a higher three-quarter arm slot. Hides the ball well and stays closed very long through landing. Present arm speed and whip generated with some feel for his curveball as well. Fastball was up to 87 mph and creates good life on the pitch with good angle as well. Very good overall pitchability with a low effort delivery; flashed a changeup but should utilize it more. Secondary third baseman with clean, two handed fielding actions. Arm strength plays well at the position and gets weight behind throws well. Righthanded hitter with a spread open stance. Lower hand set and a gap-to-gap approach. Gets out in front occasionally and fires his hips well. Feel for the barrel of the bat and works to all fields. Intriguing power ceiling that will increase as he gets more of a linear shift through his lower half. High level two-way prospect. Named to the 2017 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Lenoir-Rhyne. Excellent student.
