Dayton Romig is a 2019 2B/RHP, 3B, MIF with a 5-6 130 lb. frame from Windermere, FL who attends Windermere HS. Recorded a 7.22 second 60-yard dash and showed good speed with a recorded 4.39 second time to first in game. Smaller frame with a young build and room left for physical development. Primary second baseman who moves well with good lateral agility and athleticism. Good glove skills and has good body control. Currently developing arm strength but good foundational tools at the position. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a compact and simple delivery. Stays online and directional with a good amount of balance. Shorter arm circle in the back with a clean arm and a higher three-quarters arm slot. Higher leg lift with a hip turn at the top. Feel for the strike zone with the fastball that topped out at 78 mph and flashed run to the arm side. Tight spinning breaking ball with 10/4 shape and some depth. Switch hitter with an upright, open stance. High hand set with a high back elbow and a large leg lift trigger into contact. Shifts well into contact with the lower half. Naturally lofted plane with a simple, repeatable path to the baseball. Better balance and presence from the right side but similar tools from both sides. Tremendous student.
