Samuel Watts is a 2020 C/IF, OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Kerrville, TX who attends Our Lady of the Hills. Medium frame with an athletic build. Ran a 7.64 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. High set up receiving out in front. Long arm action in transfers with a three-quarters release. Average throws to the bag at 72 MPH and popping a 2.13 during workouts. Also worked out as a secondary infielder. Shorter strides to the ball. Tries to get around and work towards the bag. Longer exchanges into arm action. Also worked out from the outfield. Short aggressive close to the baseball. Fields with a funnel in and gets into throws. Creates some carry from the outfield topping out at 82 MPH. Righthanded hitter with a slihgtly crouched and spread stance. Simple trigger load for timing. Linear shifts into contact with a direct hand path to the ball on a line drive plane. Will turn the barrel when working to the pull side. Very good student as well.
