Abraham Sargent is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Pell City, AL who attends Victory Christian HS. Medium frame with narrow shoulders and room to fill. Ran a 7.65 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a short turn step up to a high leg lift, balances well on back leg before driving to the plate, takes arm back to a long arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, throws with intent landing slightly closed as he comes down the mound. Fastball is mostly straight while flashing heavy life to armside at times as well, showed the ability to elevate the pitch, mixed in an 11-to-5 curveball with short break and flashes of sharpness when thrown with conviction, plenty of arm strength present with some command. Also took outfield reps, athletic actions to the baseball, quick and simple release with a quick arm action, topped out at 90 mph from the outfield. Righthanded hitter, sets up with a slightly open stance, utilizes a well-timed leg kick trigger, upper half dominant swing, consistent line drive contact, will improve jump with minor refinements to lower half in swing. Outstanding student. Named to 2018 Fall Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
