Jake Keaser is a 2021 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Rochester, MI who attends Rochester Adams. Large and physical frame with broad shoulders and additional room to fill. Ran a 7.88 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, comes to balance point coiling well on his back leg, lands slightly closed to the plate as he comes down the mound, takes his arm back to a long arm action releasing up from a high 3/4 arm slot, creates a downhill plane to the plate to both sides with his fastball. Fastball is straight and topped out at 83 mph, mixed in a curveball that showed good promise and potential moving forward, changeup also flashed potential with good fading action, workable tools on the mound with room to improve. Secondary first baseman, effort to actions with some agile movements around the back, similar arm stroke and strength as on the mound. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with an even base base and a deep hand set, takes a short stride sinking into contact, swings with intent looking to lift to his pull side, flashed bat speed through the hitting zone and strength at impact. Good student.
