Nikolas San Antonio is a 2017 2B/SS with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Cranston, RI who attends Cranston West High School. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet with quick footwork, softer hands and fields the ball out front, funnels well and shows balance ranging up the middle with light actions, quick transfer and release, gets on top of throws, carry on throws will continue to develop with physical strength. Also pitched, leg lift up past belt, gets tall on backside while showing a short and compact arm action working to a three-quarters arm slot. Short stride down the mound, fastball features natural cutting life, topped out at 76 mph and is able to stay off barrels. Short depth to curveball at 65 mph, showed 11-5 shape from a similar arm slot. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide and even stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Uses a leg lift trigger for timing, short and direct swing through the zone with a line drive swing plane. Quick hands, shows balance throughout and repeats swing well, contact approach with a natural feel for the barrel, works the middle of the field with comfort and shows lien drive contact coming off the barrel. Named to Northeast Top-Top Prospect List.
