Justin Bost is a 2018 SS/2B/RHP with a 6-0 145 lb. frame from Reynolds, IL who attends Alleman HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.28 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with fundamental feet while surrounding and working through the baseball. Flashed good range to each side with clean glove actions while funneling and working through transition. Released from a three-quarters arm slot that generated some on line carry to the bag, topped at 78 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Developing glove actions while funneling. Short arm circle and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot, topped at 81 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Lower half works to contact creating linear shift. Generated some top half coil at load and launched to contact on a level plane through extension. Swung with intent to drive the baseball and flashed occasional bat speed and strength at contact. Showed best contact and ability to repeat when staying balanced and working to the middle of the field. Also pitched showing a large side step delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and utilizes lower half while driving to the plate. Released from a high three-quarters arm slot with a fastball offering that flashed some downhill angle throw the zone, topped at 81 miles per hour. Curveball had tight spin with some sweeping action to glove side. Maintained arm speed well with a changeup offering in the low 70's. Consistently mixed pitches and changed speeds with the ability work to each edge of the plate. Good poise while on the mound with a present knowledge for pitching. Good student. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition.
