Jaylen Mateo is a 2021 MIF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Coamo, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy. Slender athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. 7.05 runner in the sixty. Has fluid actions in the infield, is light on his feet and works to both sides well, tends to cup and wrap his wrist throwing which impacts his throwing accuracy, good feel for his glove out front. Left handed hitter, hits from a closed start with a big barrel wrap load, long rotational swing with loose hands and an extended bat path, raw bat speed will continue to improve with additional strength.
