Ryan Jones is a 2023 SS/IF, OF with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Starke, FL who attends Keystone Heights. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill moving forward with physical strength. Ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front, takes shorter steps to the ball and will continue to refine overall footwork, funnels into a lower arm slot with some whip at release, showed balance when working across body, accurate to first base. Similar low release point from the outfield, worked around the intended bag with throws, fields out front and utilizes a crow hop to gain momentum into release, shows actions to the ball. Righthanded hitter, begins with a square stance and a lower back elbow in the box. Shifts weight well through lower half, utilizes a contact oriented approach and shows a full swing through the zone. Loads hands back at start of swing, worked the middle and pull side parts of the field and shows a linear plane through the point of contact. Very good student.
