Mason Gray is a 2021 2B/RHP, IF, OF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Lake City, FL who attends Columbia. Skinny and young frame with room to fill and plenty of time to do so. Ran a 7.19 second 60 yard dash. Primary second baseman who took reps in the infield taking short strides to the baseball, breaks down nicely for the ball with soft hands at the point of gather up to a clean exchange, release is a bit long with balls hit to him but showed that it can be quick up the middle, average arm strength that will continue to improve with development topping out at 78 mph across the diamond. Secondary righthanded pitcher, starts windup with a side step up to a belt high leg lift, compact arm action up to a high ¾ arm slot, short stride down the mound, only threw fastballs during the outing that showed sinking action up to 75 mph. Righthanded hitter, wide base to start, short path to the baseball with developing quickness to hands, gets some backside drive at times, worked best to the middle of the field with consistent contact, will continue to improve with additional strength.
