Uday Narottam is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from South San Francisco, CA who attends Sacred Heart Cathedral Prepara. Compact frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size and strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.63 sixty yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher with a smooth paced, simple side step delivery. Stays tall on back side and drives to the plate with slight drop and drive actions. Hips stay in line while working to the plate and carries momentum through finish well. Hides baseball well from a short arm circle before releases from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Fastball jumps out of hand some with good feel and command to each edge of the plate between 75-78 miles per hour. Curveball has 12-to-6 shape with some rotation and occasional depth when staying on top of offering and working down in the strike zone. Maintains arm speed with changeup offering that flashed solid late fade to arm side in the upper 60's. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth actions throughout transition. Releases from a high three-quarters arm slot with good carry and accuracy to the bag, topped at 79 miles per hour. Showed off arm strength in games throwing out a runner trying to advance. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly crouched stance. Creates some front side coil at load building torque. Rotational lower half with occasional shift into contact. Extended, loose line drive swing plane through extension. Flashed solid bat speed through the hitting zone with the ability to hit to all fields at times. Primarily worked the middle of the field throughout batting practice showing occasional pop to the gaps when squared and on time. Outstanding student. Named to the 2016 Cal Underclass Top Prospect List.
