Owen Egan is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Yucaipa, CA who attends Yucaipa. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout, additional room to fill moving forward. Runs well, posted a 6.73 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields it out to side, extra step moving into release, shorter arm stroke through the backside working to an over-the-top slot, twitch in actions and moves well to the ball. Also pitched, compact delivery with a shorter arm stroke through the back, similar high release point and shows comfort mixing and matching three pitches in the zone for strikes. Fastball topped out at 90 mph and generates running life to arm side, changeup plays well off of the heater and proved to be go-to offering, turns it over up to 76 mph with late fading life to the bottom of zone. Slider up to 80 mph and maintains on release, short depth to the pitch through the zone. Right-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a lower back elbow at the plate, utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Short swing path through the zone, comfort working to pull side with line drive contact but shows ability to work to all fields, stays compact and shows strength at pointo f contact when squared.
